To provide leadership by increasing the knowledge level of all our technicians and by working together to continually develop and improve the training program and training materials.
Promote an atmosphere of trust, cooperation, and communication between State agencies and the private sector
Assure only qualified personnel are performing testing
Respond in a unified and consistent manner to identified quality improvement needs and new technology that impacts the products we provide
Through the use of Pooled Funding work together to develop training materials
The Mid-Atlantic Region Technician Certification Program is comprised of the State DOT's of Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and the District of Columbia and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). This organization is dedicated to raising the knowledge level of technicians performing hands-on testing of products and services we provide to the transportation industry.
To raise this knowledge level the States in MARTCP have agreed to develop core training programs in hot mix asphalt, concrete, soils and aggregates, and pavement markings. Additional programs may be added in the future.
